Information Note - IHO Candidacy

The candidacy of Captain (Navy) Burak İnan, Deputy Director of the Office of Navigation, Hydrography and Oceanography (ONHO), has been officially submitted for one of the Director positions at the International Hydrographic Organization (IHO) by the Turkish Naval Forces.

In his capacity as Deputy Director, Captain İnan has represented ONHO in various IHO working groups and regional hydrographic commissions, contributing to the organization’s technical activities in chart production and international cooperation. The election for IHO Secretary General and one of the IHO Director positions is scheduled to take place during the IHO Assembly on 19–23 April 2026.

As part of its ongoing commitment to the international hydrographic community, ONHO continues to actively engage with the IHO framework and its global initiatives.
